It's been two days and I have no regrets, things have been great. My baby girl is happy and content, and growing (she's already more than 2 inches bigger than at birth!) and I'm relaxed, happy and enjoying her.
In other news, well, there really isn't any other news. we thought the car was broken because it wouldn't start, but really it was just in drive (oops?). Ben turned 25 on Sunday, and tomarrow night we're going out to a movie and Hana will have a babysitter for the first time.
A question for moms - Hana loves sleeping on her belly and wakes up when she sleeps on her back, then has trouble getting back to sleep. The problem is she can only sleep on her belly when she's with us (sleeping on my lap etc.) and so when she naps I usually end up holding her. Any ideas on how to get her more comfortable on her back so she'll get used to sleeping in her crib? Thanks!
So that's it for now. Life is good, it's snowy, and I'll be back in NB in 4 weeks (YAY!).

My daughter did the same thing when she was young - would only nap when being held. For a while, prob. too long, I relished in it. And wound up sitting around all day long holding and cuddling her. Finally when I realized my house was falling down around me, I just kept putting her in her crib, on her back, for her naps and she got used it. It take did her some getting used to, but she did and quickly LOVED her crib.
(during the difficult times I would use a snuggly and muli-task)
P.S. Cudos for making an outstanding attempt at nursing! I too had MANY problems with nursing, most of the same ones you had, and then some more with a preemie who was fed via a tube for the first 5 days she was alive...
I struggled, and Mya struggled for nearly 4 months (with no progress) before I finally realized that more than breastmilk she needed a sane mommy. I think you've made a wise choice.
I'm glad you are feeling better, Steph! I know that was a really hard decision you had to make! But you did what was best for the both of you, and I applaud you for that!
As for the sleeping thing: try a crib wedge. She may have reflux...Amberly does, and it was the same thing with her. She did much better when we finally listened to the doc and give her a crib wedge. It works beautifully:). Also...give her a little time to figure life out...have you tried swaddling her really snuggly? That works wonders.
thanks for the ideas!
Kristi - yeah, I've been enjoying her wanting to snuggle so much too, but it makes it hard to get anything done, including nap. I have a wrap for her if I'm trying to get things done and she wants to be held, but I figure the sooner get her used to her crib the better.
Kayla - I don't think it's reflux, she will sleep on her back if she's being held with no problems, she just prefers her tummy. Swaddling does help, but she somehow manages to get her arms out no matter what, then she wakes up.
I guess I'll just have to get used to her not liking it until she gets used to her crib.
